The Chamber of Commerce is the voice of business in The Bronx, aggressively promoting measures and issues that are in the interests of doing business in the city and working against anything impairing or threatening the vitality of The Bronx businesses.
At every turn, the Chamber advocates and initiates programs designed to enhance the image of The Bronx and stimulate the marketing of Bronx-based products and services. The Chamber actively "partners" with various government entities and business organizations to form a powerful network extending into every segment of business society.

Hosting of educational and informational programs to assist members with business growth
Counseling and guidance for new business or expanding business ventures
Generating Certificates of Origin for firms shipping goods outside the United States (especially valuable with global trade now conducted over the Internet)
Maintenance of research tools, such as source and historic and reference libraries
Providing interns under a wide array of educational partnerships .
The 1st Annual woman of distinction awards Luncheon took place at the Marina Del Ray ,Caterers Bronx NY, close to four hundred people were in attendance, from all business backgrounds, June Island vice president of BCC, opened up and welcoming guests and honoree’s, Mistress of ceremonies was Juliet Papa , 1010 WINS Radio, Lisa Sorin ,President of BCC, bought greetings and introduced the Honorable Adolfo Carrion,Jr. Bronx Boro President, he went on to say Lenny Caro ,the CEO of The BCC, has done a great job, in taking the chamber to where it is today,with a great board of directors working closely with him, after the brief remarks, the Bronx boro president introduced Christine C. Quinn ,NY Council Speaker,who want on to say she was honored to be a part of the woman of distinction awards Luncheon, that she was also trying to pass legislation to have only one tax paid for the S Corporation, and at the same time to push to making reduction in the property taxes, and she also went on to say that the small business’s are the back bone to our economy and we need to help them where needed.
The following Woman won the Woman of Distinction Awards: Sandra Erickson, Bronx-Manhattan North Association of Realtors, Entrepreneur Award winner, Sandra Quilico, Commerce Bank Business Leader Award, Dr Carolyn Williams, Bronx Community College, Educational Leader Award, Marlene Cintron, The Hope line ,Community Leader Award, Secretary of State Lorriane Cortes Vazquez, Government Leader Award and Rosalba Rolon, Pregones Theatre, Arts and Humanities Award.
The other guests who were in attendance were: Joel Rivera, Council Member,Noami Rivera, Assembly member , James Vacca, Council Member, Hector M.Aponte Parks commissioner for the Bronx, Rosanna Rosado,Publisher of Eldairio/La Prensa, Quenia Abreu, President of NY Women’s Chamber, Shirley Reminski, President 100 Hispanic woman, and many many more ,from their respected fields.
