Dress for success Annual Gala
Themed “April in Paris”

Each year Dress for Success hosted  a gala dinner to pay tribute to the successes of it’s clients, supporters, and sponsors. The event drew over 600 people from various industries for an elegant night of dinner, live auctions, entertainment, presentations, and awards.

This year’s theme for the gala was  APRIL IN PARIS and the Marriott Marquis which was  transformed into the City of Light for this one evening only. 2006 Honorees included : Corporate Citizenship Award Recipients Chantelle,  Kérastase Paris and Woman of Achievement Award Recipient Star Jones Reynolds,of  The View.Star in her acceptance went onto say that she has contributed thousands of suits and outfits to the organization, Dress for Success, and deeply admired the work Joi Gordon,the CEO of Dress for Success has been doing throughout the world.

 Past honorees have included: Harry Belafonte, Human Rights Activist; Richard Srednicki, C.E.O. of Chase Card Services; Jim Berrien, President of Forbes Magazine Company; Hal Upbin, CEO of Kellwood Company; Bobbi Brown of Bobbi Brown Cosmetics; Alex Garfield, co-founder and principal of Garfield Marks Design Group; Marge Magner, COO of Citgroup; and Cynthia Leive, Editor-in-Chief of Glamour Magazine, just to name a few. Goal: Dress for Success has served over 200,000 women worldwide since 1997. The gala has raised millions of dollars for Dress for Success and this year’s  goal was   to raise $1 million to support the  programs.

Founded in 1996, Dress for Success (DFS) is a non-profit organization that provides interview suits, confidence boosts and career development to low-income women re-entering the workforce. DFS helps our clients make tailored transitions into the new jobs through various programs that aim to lead a woman from suits to self-sufficiency. Since it’s inception, the organization has served nearly 200,000 women throughout the world.
