New York Hispanic Chamber of Commerce: Annual Women’s History Month Luncheon

According to the latest figures from the New York City Planning Commission, Hispanic-owned and operated business in New York City have increased by sixty percent since the beginning of this decade. While the word Hispanic is a catch-all word, Hispanics are as diverse as the many Nations they come from and the products and services they require can often be as different as a Mexican enchilada is from a Puerto Rican pastel.

This wide diversity also extends to the difference in size of the various Hispanic businesses as well as the experience and know-how of the many entrepreneurs. Access to government contracts, marketing strategies, liability and health insurance are but a few of the many benefits that the New York City Hispanic Chamber of Commerce can make available to its members.

It is the mission of the NYCHCC to represent and advocate for Hispanic Businesses in New York in a cohesive and collective manner which will assist new entrepreneurs, vitalize existing businesses and assure the growth and success of Hispanic businesses and the clients they serve. To this end, the NYCHCC recognizes that its work on behalf of the Hispanic business community must be three-fold.

1.We must work with the private sector to establish relationships with corporate America that will benefit Hispanic businesses.

2.We must work with the public sector agencies, state legislature, Congress, and state executive branch to advocate for laws, regulations and opportunities that promote the growth and success of Hispanic business in New York City.

3.NYCHCC will work with its individual business members and member chambers to develop stronger and more effective grass roots organizations that are able to assist the growing number of Hispanic businesses in the City to succeed.
