City Scape USA,Conference and Exhibition

Cityscape USA kicked off its highly anticipated real estate conference and exhibition this week at the Jacob Javits Center in New York. With over 120 exhibitors from around the world, and more than 100 conference speakers, Cityscape USA has organized an influential real estate investment gathering by bridging the gap between the booming emerging markets and the United States.

The three day conference and two-day networking exhibition has attracted top market leaders, investors, developers, architects, designers and consultants in the real estate industry. One such networking opportunity included the US-Arab Investor Round Table Forum which brought together senior level institutional investors and developers from the US and Middle East to exchange ideas and contacts in an exclusive environment.

Henry Cisneros, Chairman of Cityview and former US Secretary of Housing and Urban Development, kicked off the conference on September 9 with a discussion about homeownership and the uncertain mortgage market. Conference delegates were also impressed by other speakers including Donald Trump Jr., Executive VP of Development & Acquisitions, Trump Organization; Lee Neibart, Senior Partner, Apollo Real Estate Advisors; William Krauch, Managing Director and Head of Global Marketing, ING Real Estate; and Richard Kincaid, Principal of Lakeshore Holdings LLC. A much anticipated presentation will be by Fannie Mae’s Executive Vice President, Kenneth J. Bacon, who be speaking tomorrow about “current and long term views for multifamily and single family sectors in the US.”

US exhibitors at Cityscape USA include Seven Falls Golf and River Club in North Carolina, featuring the first ever Arnold Palmer Premier Golf Club. Another US developer, Historic Real Estate Inc. from Houston, Texas is showcasing the WaterLights District – a $700 million mixed-use development just south of the world’s largest medical and research center. WaterLights is comprised of 1,400 residential units, three upscale hotels, restaurants, boutique retail, and waterfront eateries.

From the emerging markets, Abu Dhabi’s Tourism Development and Investment Company (TDIC) is presenting Saadiyat Island Cultural District. This development is projected to be the world’s largest single concentration of premier cultural institutions, including the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi Museum. “Abu Dhabi is committed to evolving into an international destination of distinction. The emirate has huge natural assets which can assist in this aim, including 200 natural islands and 700 kilometers of shoreline,” said Lee Tabler, Chief Executive Officer of TDIC.

Dubai-based Nakheel is an investment sponsor of Cityscape USA and one of the largest exhibitors. Nakheel and the Trump Organization recently celebrated the launch of Trump International Hotel & Tower on Palm Jumeirah. In addition to a range of one to four bedroom units, the Tower will feature the most expensive penthouse in Dubai.

One of the leading property developers in Dubai and Northern Emirates, Chapal World LLC, is showcasing numerous future projects including Chapal Flora Residences and Chapal Corals in Emirates Lake Towers, Ajman. Also showcasing impressive, large-scale development projects, L&T Realty unveiled India’s first transit oriented development, L&T Seawoods. This development is located at Navi Mumbai, one of the world’s largest planned cities with a population of three million and expected to grow to 5 million in five years.
